Huntersville

Huntersville

Basked in History
Huntersville, North Carolina was the first town established on Lake Norman just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. It’s in Mecklenburg County. Originally called Craighead, the name was changed to Huntersville in honor of Robert Boston Huntersville, the principal landowner and cotton farmer. Incorporated as a town in 1873, Huntersville grew when it became a major railroad stop. Businesses like the Virgin Manufacturing Company, a cotton mill, and textile mills brought jobs which brought more residents to the town. Today Huntersville continues to grow. With a population of 56,212, the town’s proximity to Charlotte and Lake Norman make it a delightful place to live.
