Red River is an unincorporated community in York County, South Carolina. Situated along the Catawba River, the city of Rock Hill surrounds it. The earliest known mention of Red River was on the "Road Map for South Carolina," published by Shell Oil in 1956. Despite its size, the community enjoys a close-knit atmosphere and benefits from the nearby hospitality of Rock Hill.


Take in the sights on The Piedmont Medical Center Trail, a 2.5-mile-long, paved, ten-foot-wide trail that winds alongside the Catawba River, suitable for walking, running, and biking. With connections, there are 3.35 miles of beautiful scenery. It features flat areas, stretches with steep grades, and is equipped with benches, pet stations, and bridges. Additionally, the trail connects to the Waterford Golf Course Trail and is part of the City of Rock Hill's Trail and Greenway System.


If a day outdoors makes you hungry, The Pump House offers a private and semi-private group dining experience. Have an intimate get-together in the East Balcony or seat up to 50 people in the Catawba River Room. There are prix fix menu selections, special events, and wine tastings monthly. The company installed 27 phone lines connecting local businesses and suppliers, growing to 443 phones over the next two decades. The Comporium Pioneer Club has donated over 20,000 hours of service to communities and is open to current and retired telecommunications industry employees.

The project is part of the Knowledge Park Action Plan and has completed nine murals, with more underway. Local and international artists have participated, including Osiris Rain, who was the first to complete a mural for the project.
