Spring Valley

Spring Valley, South Carolina

Spring Valley, SC

Spring Valley is one of northern South Carolina's hamlet communities near Ravenwood and Yorkdale. This group of neighborhoods is a great place to start new beginnings or settle down with a family. Spring Valley High School has won state championships in football, cross country, golf, basketball, and more, and has produced many NFL players, an Olympian, an NBA and an MLB player.

Spring Valley sits next to the Catawba River, named after the Catawba tribe, "the people of the river." This nation has close ties with South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. According to the tribe's historians, this space has been a part of their ancestral lands for at least 6,000 years. The citizens of Spring Valley and surrounding communities work with the Catawba nation on local initiatives, volunteer programs, and other important ventures.

Being nearby Williams Lake and in the southeastern bend of the Catawba River, Spring Valley has a rich landscape that provides a great opportunity for ranching and farming. Baker Farm is one small business that has been steadily growing in the area as the local Shetland Sheep farm. On top of selling wool and yarn, they also have a truffle orchard that has been steadily growing since 2013, and also a line of fiber arts.

Another local business is full of busy bees, literally. Hatley Hives is a family-owned and operated business that provides quality honey to the locals around the Spring Valley area. On top of sharing their organic honey supplies, they also offer bee relocation services. These services help safely remove bees from problematic spots on residential and commercial properties. They are then taken to a more natural habitat where they'll be in less danger and out of the way of the daily lives of their human neighbors.

Charanda of Rock Hill is a short drive from your Spring Valley residence if you're looking for a night out for dinner. Charanda is a Mexican grill and cantina that offers mouth-watering homemade meals. While you can grab a traditional enchilada or tortilla soup, there are also custom options, from their house nachos with Charanda dip to their special-made Pollo Poblano. While they offer take-out options, the atmosphere is so inviting that you'll want to find an open spot to sit and relax for your meal.

Spring Valley is lovely to spend days relaxing and meeting your neighbors. You shouldn't have to worry about what might be crawling across your floors and camping out inside your walls. Unfortunately, the area is no stranger to beetles, spiders, and other invasive insects. While the state bug may be the Carolina Mantid for its agricultural appeal, we wouldn't recommend letting them loose in your house as a form of residential pest control.
